The Poison Garden Drugs Education Project

“This isn’t me” educated young people on how illicit substances alter the body and mind. This project includes a guided tour of The Poison Garden and a thought-provoking discussion of NASA’s Spiders on Drugs Experiment, (take a look). A speaker from The North East Council on Addictions (NECA), who is nearing the end of their own drugs rehabilitation programme, will further highlight the real-life implications of drug-use and students will be encouraged to debate the legalisation of drugs in the United Kingdom

The Roots and Shoots Healthy Living Project

Our Roots and Shoots Garden provides 200 children from 10 schools with their own plot to plant and cultivate seasonal fruits and vegetables. Beginning in March, the pupils not only learn about gardening but also healthy eating, cooking and exercise. These plots and their magnificent hand crafted scarecrows are available for all visitors to view in the Roots and Shoots garden.

The Forget-me-Not Project

The Forget-Me -Not project delivers fun and inclusive activities for children with additional needs and their families.
Families who attend The Weekend Club enjoy arts, crafts, baking, board games and outdoor games.
Young people aged 14-19 come to our Youth Club where they socialise with peers and gain confidence and independence in a relaxing environment.
The Roots and Shoots Garden welcomes our Forget-Me-Not families to spend quality time together and tend to their vegetable plots.
