Group Visits

All Welcome at The Alnwick Garden

The Alnwick Garden is a destination of choice for tens of thousands of UK and international visitors, many who return year after year. We welcome and accommodate visitors from Europe, America and Asia and provide translated literature and tours for as many people as we can.

Our Garden is fully accessible, being one of the first UK Tourist destinations to be promoted on the Visit England Accessibility Guide.

Our reputation overseas is of an inclusive, accommodating venue and we are proud to have worked with a huge amount of group tour operators for many years.

Useful info and the area

Alnwick is an historic market town with cobbled streets, local independent traders and has so much to see and do.

Within a 5 minute stroll from The Garden you will find yourselves amongst shops, restaurants, coffee shops and galleries all operated by local, independent traders.  But it’s not all just eating and shopping…

  • Alnwick is home to Barter Books, the largest second-hand book shop in the UK located in the Victorian Railway station originally opened in 1887. It was here that in 2000 an original WW2 “Keep Calm and Carry On” poster was discovered which has since turned into an international design phenomenon.
  • The Bailiffgate Museum is a people’s museum, showcasing the vast history of Alnwick and its surrounding villages throughout the ages. It has been recognised as one of the 25 best places in the country for early years children to visit and there are plenty of dressing-up clothes, hands-on activities and quirky stories to capture kid’s (and big kids!!) imaginations.
  • Alnwick has also hosted a monthly farmers’ market for hundreds of years and still boasts a variety of local traders selling everything from cakes to candles and pottery to pies.
